Be Sure of Your Salvation!
by Brother Craig

My friend, this was given to you because someone cares for you and your eternal future. You can be truly saved. The choice is yours, but sadly, many people today say they are either “saved”, “Born Again”, or they say “I believe in God” or “I Believe in Jesus”. They also say, “I’ve been good”; “I haven’t been too bad”; “I am a Christian” and so much more. But what do all these mean. The true definition of a Christian is a follower of Jesus Christ. If you are living in sin such as cursing, worldly music, smoking, drinking, anger, bad movies & television, pornography, and endless other amounts of sin. I regret to say, no matter what of the above sayings you give, YOU ARE NOT SAVED! Self-righteousness is the biggest reason today that people don’t get saved and end up in Hell. They don’t want Christ’s grace and his righteousness alone to save them. They want to be part of their salvation. They want to have pride (independence from God) in their salvation. People want to do something themselves to be saved. They think just knowing Christ and what he did, but not living for him makes them saved. Again, that won’t work! I want to take you to God’s word, the Bible and show you many things about true Bible salvation and how we should be living if we are truly saved. If you do not have a Bible, ask the person who gave you this to help you go over the following:

What Makes You Think You Are Saved? (Be aware, the Devil tries to blind you from the truth of the Gospel, and tries to keep you from fully understanding the truth [2nd Corinthians 4:4, John 12:40]. The following questions may help you to know if have the assurance of salvation which God gives to all who truly believe on and trust in the Lord Jesus Christ:)

1. When were you saved? - Can you remember a date and time when you trusted Christ as Savior? (Romans 10:9-10)

2. How were you saved? - Read John 3:16 & Ephesians 2:8-9. Do you believe that God loved you so much that he gave his only begotten Son (Jesus) to shed his blood and die on the cross for you that you might have eternal life in Christ? Do you believe It was by something you did or by your works and not by Grace through faith alone that you are saved? If you truly believe in your heart that Jesus died for your sins and that salvation is by grace through faith alone (not by works or rituals), you are saved if you have then repented of your sins and asked Him to forgive you and cleanse you, but:

3. Why were you saved?, What are you saved from? - Read Romans 5:8-9; Matthew 9:13; 1 Timothy 1:15; Luke 15:10; Romans 3:23; and Romans 6:23. You hopefully should have wanted to be saved because you are a sinner deserving of Hell, you believed in what Christ did on the cross, and you repented of your SIN. These verses clearly prove that those who are truly saved are saved from SIN! So why would you still be living yet in constant sin when you should have a new life in Christ serving and praising him?

4. Are you sure you are saved? - Read 1 Thessalonians 4:16-18; Ephesians 2:8-9; Romans 3:28; John 3:36;and John 6:47. Do you have the assurance that you have eternal life in Christ? Do you believe that your salvation is forever and can never be lost? Do you know that the Holy Spirit is in you to help you to have the victory over the power of sin? If not, you must understand that salvation is permanent. When a person gets saved, they stay saved. If a person loses their salvation, then they never had it to begin with (Hebrews 6:4-10)

5. Do you desire to serve the Lord, follow his Word, and not the world? - Read 1 John 2:15-17; 1 John 4:15-17; Romans 1:17; Psalm 139:23-24; and James 2:14-20 (Salvation by faith; then your works show your faith in Christ). In Colossians 3:8 it says about a person who is truly saved, “But now ye also put off all these; anger, wrath, malice, blasphemy, filthy communication out of your mouth” (cursing, dirty talk). Read Colossians 3:6-10 and compare those verses about a new man in Christ to your life. If the way you are living your life does not show that you are saved and you are not putting complete faith and trust in that you belong to Christ and he belongs to you, you might not be saved.

6. In Heaven, what will you do? You won’t be partying, drinking, watching sports, or any other worldly activity. But you will have perfect, universal love (1 John 3:2, 4:8); Perfect knowledge (1 Corinthians 13:12); Give perpetual praise to God (Revelation 7:9-12); and there will be much melody and song and worshipping and serving of King Jesus.

I hope these six things helped you know for sure whether or not you are saved, but Praise the Lord, here is:

How To Be TRULY Saved & Know For Sure: My Friend, Nothing and no one on this earth can satisfy the longing and spirit of your soul or give you true peace, joy, and happiness. Everything in this world is temporal. You only have one life to live. This life will soon be past, only what you do for Christ will last! The Bible says in 1st John 2:17; “And the world passeth away, and the lust thereof: but he that doeth the will of God abideth forever.” True salvation is by grace through faith in Christ alone and absolutely nothing else. That faith comes from your heart, your free-will to choose Christ as your Savior. God sends nobody to Hell, we do, because we choose to, by not trusting Christ and living for him. The decision is up to you. Let me show you how to be saved:

There is an Order in Salvation: (From your heart:)

1. Recognize the Holiness of God - Read 1 Samuel 2:2; Psalm 145:17. These show God is holy, hates sin, and wants no part of it!
2. Recognize YOU have sinned before an almighty and Holy God and are deserving of Hell (Romans 3:23; Romans 5:8; Romans 6:23). If you don’t see yourself as a Hell deserving sinner whom Christ died for, you won’t want to be saved.
3. Recognize that God sent Jesus Christ who died on the cross for all sin, shed his blood for you, was buried and rose again that you might live eternally. (Romans 5:9; Ephesians 1:7) You must believe in the power of the sin cleansing blood of Christ.
4. Recognize you have forgiveness of your sins by believing in what Jesus did at the cross and confess (repent of) your sins to him alone. (Romans 10:9-10; 1 John 1:9; Luke 13:3). Only Jesus can forgive all your sins of the past, present, and future. Are you truly sorry for your sin that you would be willing to repent and forsake your sin?

If you have been convicted, I encourage you, from your heart, to pray and trust Christ right now. Did you? If so, you are now truly saved. You now should want to start living a new life for Christ; II Corinthians 5:17; “Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.” You also should get a King James Bible and start attending an old-fashioned Bible believing church. Always remember that when you sin; “The eyes of the Lord are in every place, beholding the evil and the good” (Proverbs 15:3). Remember to pray often; “The Lord is far from the wicked, but he heareth the prayer of the righteous” (Proverbs 15:29). You are now righteous, because you have God’s righteousness. You are truly saved!
